Set up of Directorate of Urban Affairs

(a) Office of Director, Urban Affairs

The Office of the Director, Directorate of Urban Affairs is headed by the Director and assisted by 2 Joint Directors, 1 Executive Engineer,1 Architect, 1 Finance and Accounts Officer. There are also 10 branches headed by responsible personnel which are as follows:

  1. Accounts and Budget Branch: This Branch is headed by one Superintendent under the guidance of the F.A.O. deals with the preparation of budget and all accounts related matters.
  2. Establishment Branch: This Branch is headed by a Registrar and assisted by one Superintendent. This branch deals with all appointment and transfer, leave pension, personnel file and maintenance of service records.
  3. Technical Branch: This Branch is headed by Executive Engineer and assisted by 2 Assistant Engineers. This branch is responsible for scrutiny of estimates etc.
  4. Investigation and Design: This Branch is also headed by Executive Engineer and assisted by 1 Assistant Engineer (I andD) and technical subordinate conducts the survey works.
  5. Design Branch: This Branch is headed by an Architect and assisted by 2 Assistant Architect prepares the architectural plans and drawings required for different works and scrutinize the drawings received from field officers and other departments.
  6. Planning Branch: This Branch is headed by one of the Joint Director and supported by two Assistant Urban Planner and other staffs. This Branch deals with preparation and scrutiny of Master Plans and development plans, project report and different development schemes.
  7. Research Branch: This Branch is headed by a Research Officer and assisted by one Research Assistant deals with collection of data, preparation of report and Assembly matters.
  8. Monitoring Cell: This Branch is headed by an Assistant Research Officer and assisted by one Research Assistant monitor the progress of all plan schemes and programmes.
  9. Municipal Branch : This Branch is headed by an Assistant Research Officer under the guidance of a Research Officer and assisted by one Research Assistant deals with all matters relating to the Municipal Boards.

b) District Offices

  1. District Urban Planner, Urban Affairs,West Garo Hills,Tura :-
    The Office of District Urban Planner, Urban Affairs, West Garo Hills, Dakopgirri Tura is headed by the District Urban Planner and assisted by 1 Assistant Urban Planner, 1 Assistant Architect, Assistant Research Officer ,1 Research Assistant, 1 Surveyor Grade-II, 1 Planning Draughtsman II and other staffs .
  2. District Urban Planner, Urban Affairs, East Khasi Hills,Shillong :-
    The Office of District Urban Planner, Urban Affairs, Khasi Hills, Raitong Building, Secretariat Hill, Shillong is headed by the District Urban Planner and assisted by 1 Research Assistant, 1 Investigator, 1 Surveyor Grade II, 1 Planning Draughtsman II and other staffs.
  3. District Urban Planner, Urban Affairs, Jaintia Hills, Jowai :-
    The Office of District Urban Planner, Urban Affairs, Jaintia Hills, Moosalyngkat, Jowai is headed by the District Urban Planner and assisted by 1 Research Assistant,1 Investigator, 1 Surveyor Grade II, 1 Planning Draughtsman II and other staffs.
  4. Executive Engineer, Urban Affairs, West Garo Hills, Tura :-
    The Office of Executive Engineer, Urban Affairs, West Garo Hills, Dakopgirri, Tura is headed by the Executive Engineer and assisted by 2 Assistant Engineer , 3 Junior Engineers, 1 Sub Engineer II, 4 Sectional Assistant and other staffs.
  5. Executive Engineer, Urban Affairs, East Khasi Hills,Shillong :-
    The Office of Executive Engineer, Urban Affairs, Khasi Hills, Raitong Building, Secretariat Hill is headed by the Executive Engineer and assisted by 2 Assistant Engineers, 4 Junior Engineers, 1 Sub Engineer II, 4 Sectional Assistant and other staffs.
  6. Executive Engineer, Urban Affairs , Jaintia Hills, Jowai :-
    The Office of Executive Engineer, Urban Affairs, Jaintia Hills, Moosalyngkat, Jowai is headed by the Executive Engineer and assisted by 2 Assistant Engineers, 3 Junior Engineers, 1 Sub Engineer II , 2 Sectional Assistant and other staffs
  7. The Office of Assistant Engineer, Urban Affairs Unit, Ri-Bhoi District, Nongpoh :-
    The Office of Assistant Engineer, Urban Affairs Unit, Ri-Bhoi District, Nongpoh is headed by the Assistant Engineer and assisted by 1 Junior Engineer and other staffs.
  8. The Office of Assistant Engineer, Urban Affairs Unit, East Garo Hills, Williamnagar :-
    The Office of District Urban Affairs Unit, East Garo Hills, Williamnagar is headed by the Assistant Engineer and assisted by 1 Assistant Engineer, 3 Junior Engineers and other staffs.

    The Office of District Urban Affairs Unit, South Garo Hills, Baghmara is headed by the Assistant Engineer and assisted by 1 Junior Engineers and other staffs.
  10. The Office of Assistant Engineer, Urban Affairs Unit, North Garo Hills, Resubelpara :-

  11. The Office of Assistant Engineer, Urban Affairs Unit, South West Garo Hills, Ampati :-
